On Tuesday, 9 August the bus for the HRIS Primary Athletics members will leave the College at 5.50am.

It is expected to return by 5.30pm approximately.

UNE HSC Booster Days Update

The HSC Booster Days at UNE, Armidale have been extended for one extra day due to additional studies being offered by the university, including Legal Studies and PDHPE. All students and staff will be accommodated in the prestigious New England Girl’s School boarding house.

Therefore, due to this extra day away, students attending will arrive back at school late WEDNESDAY evening. Please make sure that your transport arrangements allow for this additional day.

Attendance at UNE “HSC Booster Days” 19th – 21st June

Background: Over the past few years these days are sponsored by the University of New England in Armidale, NSW to assist students in the areas of HSC Sciences and Mathematics. Students attend these free workshops which are designed to assist them to be better prepared for the HSC Examination. For students travelling from distant schools free accommodation is provided within the town of Armidale at either Scout camps or Caravan Parks.

If sufficient numbers of students were to be interested in attending transport would be by way of the MVAC bus with Mr Dawes driving.

Students would depart MVAC at 10am Sunday 19th June and return to MVAC at approx 6pm on Tuesday 21st June.

Cost: Transport, lunch(2), Workshops and accommodation would be provided free of charge to the students attending. Students would need to purchase Breakfast (2) and Dinner (2) as part of a group activity at a local food outlet.

Supervision: Mr Dawes would be accommodated at the same venue and provide the transport through out the excursion. Students would be expected to behave in an acceptable manner at all times.

Additional Comments: An opportunity to meet former MVAC students currently studying at UNE would be organised.

The cross country on Monday 2 May 2011 is going ahead as planned for Secondary students. The Primary cross country has been postponed to a date yet to be confirmed.

On Wednesday, 27th April 2011 students return in full winter uniform.

Boys:

Long College pants, long sleeved College shirts and ties

Yr 11/12: Long grey College pants, white shirts, ties and blazers

Girls

Juniors: Long sleeve blouse and tunic, ties, navy blue socks or navy stockings

Yr 5+ : Long sleeve blouse, skirt, ties, navy socks or navy stockings

Yr 11/12: Winter College skirts, white blouse, ties, navy socks or navy stockings, blazers

Holiday fun at your local Greater Taree City Libraries

Greater Taree City Libraries are running a number of fun filled activities this April school holidays including free movie screenings (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Shrek the Third & Despicable Me), Indigenous art workshops, Easter craft, Tai Chi, gardening workshop, bingo, music writing workshop and loads more.

Most activities are free or incur a small fee.
